First National Real Estate, Australia’s largest independent real estate network, has today announced the appointment of FirstAML as its exclusive Alliance Partner to support members with compliance for the upcoming expansion of Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) legislation.

Under ‘tranche 2’ reforms, real estate agencies will be legally required to implement AML/CTF programmes by 1 July 2026. First National has spent the past year conducting due diligence, evaluating various compliance models and assessing leading providers in the field.

Following a rigorous review process, FirstAML was selected for its proven expertise in AML/CTF solutions, ISO 27001-certified security standards, and its existing ASIC integration, enabling seamless verification of both individuals and complex corporate entities during real estate transactions.

David Edwards, CEO of First National Real Estate, said the partnership reflects First National’s commitment to leadership and proactive compliance across the sector.

‘Our responsibility is to ensure every office in our network can meet these significant regulatory changes with confidence. FirstAML stood out for its focus on security, scalability and support. We are confident this partnership will minimise disruption while ensuring our members stay ahead of the legislative curve.’

The onboarding process is already underway, with principals and administrators across the network encouraged to register with FirstAML immediately to begin their compliance preparation, including risk assessments, customer verification procedures and staff training.

FirstAML CEO, Milan Cooper, welcomed the partnership.

‘We’re proud to support Australia’s largest network of independent agents through this landmark change. With our purpose-built platform and experience across multiple regulated sectors, we’re ready to help every First National member meet their obligations efficiently and effectively.’

First National Real Estate members can now sign up through the network’s portal to begin their transition to compliant AML/CTF operations over the coming months.
