First National Real Estate’s ongoing support of Ride for Sick Kidshas seen the member-driven cooperative network now donate in excess of $320,000 as part of its community sponsorship programme, with the support of First National Foundation.
The network has supported the excellent work done by Ronald McDonald House Charities for more than six years, and this year’s sponsorship includes both New South Wales and South Australia rides.
First National Lewis Prior (Warradale, SA) principal, Mr Brett Lewis will represent First National Real Estate in the November 17th to 23rd 1,000-kilometre Adelaide to Adelaide ride.
‘I’m very much looking forward to this year’s ride’ says Brett.
“Although the seven days can be gruelling, the discomfort we feel as riders pales when compared to the situation families find themselves in when they live in remote locations, and their kids develop chronic illnesses.
‘Both First National’s and my personal fundraising, which now tops $60,000, makes a real contribution to the vital community work Ronald McDonald House does. I’m proud to be representing the real estate industry in this fundraising activity’.
Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation and support services to seriously ill kids and their families nationally. Doctors agree that the House has a dual benefit, as studies have shown that children who have their families close by respond better to treatment.
On Sunday November 17, the Ride for Sick Kids starts in Adelaide and then stops at Victor Harbour, Tailem Bend, Kingston, Bordertown, Pinnaroo and Mannum, before finishing in Adelaide on Saturday 23 November.
