The elite of First National Real Estate’s agents, investment relations managers, and ‘Rookies of the Year’ have been flown into Melbourne today by First National Real Estate to be addressed about how to break the mould and achieve even better results by former AFL elite coach, Neil Craig.
The ‘Chairman’s Circle’ event, hosted at Melbourne’s Park Hyatt, honours elite winners of the network’s General Excellence and Marketing Awards. It provides an important opportunity for young achievers to meet seasoned professionals, share their expertise, and learn from the experience.
‘One of the greatest challenges for high performers is finding a way to break the mould; to go on to achieve even better results’ says Neil Craig.
‘Courage is the first value of leadership. It takes courage to be assertive, courage to innovate, and courage to close the blind spots within our teams by speaking up about the things that need to change.’
It’s the conversations that sales teams and property management teams don’t have, the uncomfortable conversations about performance deficits or opportunities, that diminish a team’s opportunity to grow and thrive’, according to Mr Craig.
First National chief executive, Ray Ellis says each real estate business is a reflection of its leadership, and that perceptions of reaching the top can be unhelpful to building a team culture of exceptionality, and estate agencies with long-term viability.’
‘It’s essential that the top performers in our businesses across Australia aren’t tempted to accept their achievements as the end of the journey. Our Chairman’s Circle is the recognition of their success, but underscores the importance of having the vision to go further.’
Leadership comes down to creating conditions of trust within an organisation. Good leaders take their teams beyond that which the science of management would suggest is possible.
‘Everything in real estate is about results, customer experience, and creating team cultures that uplift people, help them achieve their best, and deliver benefits beyond a customer’s expectation’ says Ellis.
