This weekend will see the much-anticipated start of the First National Real Estate Board Series with rounds 1 and 2 featuring at the Ocean Assault event in Alexandra Headland. As the first rounds of the Board Series, this event will feature on FOX Sports for the first time in Surf Life Saving history, airing on the 4th and 11th December.

Competitors will be out to prove that they are in the running to be crowned the first ever First National Real Estate Board Series Champion! The intense weekend of racing will see the competitors fighting it out to get as many points to their name as they can.

Due to the nature of board paddling and the strength of the field, a strong start to series will be crucial for gaining a place in the grand final, according to network chief executive Ray Ellis.

‘For many of the top board paddlers the 14th and 15th of November will mark their first big event since the Australian Titles, and they will be hungry for victory after working hard throughout the cold winter months’ said Mr Ellis.

Current World Board Champions Harriet Brown and Shannon Eckstein will be looking to stay at the top after their outstanding performances in France, and they’ll be the ones to beat over the two-day event.

The female race will feature the likes of Brodie Moir (2012 World Board Champion), as well as local Sunshine Coast stars Jordan Mercer and Amy Nurthen (2nd and 3rd 2014 Australian Championships respectively).

Similarly the men’s field will showcase the talent of Mooloolaba’s young gun Luke Cuff who will be looking for a win after coming 2nd in both the World and Australian Championships.

The First National Real Estate Board Series is sure to provide an exciting event not only for the competitors but spectators alike.
